Recipe: Appetizing Chickpea patties

Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Chickpea patties. These Easy Chickpea Patties are slightly crispy on the outside and tender and moist and flavorful on the inside. Serve them with plain Greek yogurt or a tzatziki sauce. These Easy Chickpea Patties are more commonly known as Falafel, and they're often times served inside pita bread.

Toast each slice in toaster or in frying pan. Serve with slices of tomato and red onions and mayonnaise. Drain the can of chickpeas and add the chickpeas to a food processor with the cooked onions/garlic, paprika, coriander powder, cumin, freshly chopped cilantro and flour and process it into a thick burger batter.   1. It's 2 can of chickpeas.
  2. You need 1 medium of carrot.
  3. You need 1 tbsp of onion.

Chickpea patties instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Mash up chickpeas in a large bowl.
  3. Shred carrots and onion and add to bowl.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir well.
  5. Form into large patties.
  6. Add to greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Broil until golden in color.

In a food processor, whizz the chickpeas, lemon zest, lemon juice, cumin, half the coriander, the egg and some seasoning. Heat the oil in a frying pan until hot. Form the chickpea mixture into small slider-sized patties, ¼ cup mixture per patty. Fill a skillet with grapeseed oil to a depth of ¼ inch. Heat the oil slowly over medium heat till hot enough to fry.
