Although, I usually take the easy way out, and use a cake mix, and I do doctor it up a bit to make it taste homemade , there is something about a made from scratch batter than just taste different. This has been my go-to cupcake recipe for the last few years! I've made them for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, and always to rave reviews! I don't always do the black forest version; this is an excellent cupcake just plain as well! Add cream cheese to a mixing bowl and pour sugar mixture over cream cheese, then using an electric hand mixer set on low speed, whip mixture just until smooth.
